By taking the space down to the studs and eliminating the bulky pantry, we unlocked a bright, expansive layout anchored by white-washed oak LVP and custom 42-inch white oak cabinetry. Bedrosians Cloe tile now runs cleanly to the ceiling, paired with soft Taj Mahal silk quartz, fluted architectural tile across the island overhang, and hidden under-cabinet power strips that leave the entire space sleek and clutter-free.
Redefining the Footprint: The Full Kitchen Gut & Pantry Demo
Creating a truly functional luxury kitchen often starts with removing structural roadblocks. In this complete kitchen gut renovation, the original footprint was constrained by an oversized, drywall-framed closet pantry that ate up valuable floor area and created dark, awkward corners.
Our team took the space down to the bare studs and demoed out the old pantry entirely. Reclaiming that square footage allowed us to extend the perimeter run with continuous, high-capacity custom cabinetry. The result is a dramatically wider, open-concept layout grounded in organic modern warmth, architectural texture, and tailored craftsmanship.
The Foundation: White-Washed Oak Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) Flooring

The wide-plank, wire-brushed texture features soft coastal tones with pale cream and honey undertones. This white-washed finish provides a light, grounding plane that reflects natural light across the room while establishing a seamless flow into adjoining living spaces. It delivers 100% waterproof resilience while mimicking the authentic grain, knots, and tactile feel of genuine European white oak.
Custom Cabinetry: 42-Inch White & white Oak Frameless Shakers
Replacing the old drywall pantry required an intentional storage solution that blended seamlessly into the home's architecture. We designed a dual-finish, custom cabinet program engineered for maximum volume and clean sightlines:
Custom-Made 42-Inch White Oak Cabinets: Natural white oak millwork anchors the perimeter, infusing the kitchen with organic grain movement. By extending these custom units to a full 42 inches in height, every vertical inch is utilized for dedicated pantry storage, pull-out spice racks, and utility organization.
Frameless Shaker Top Cabinets: The upper cabinets feature modern, frameless (full-overlay) shaker construction. The concealed hinges and clean, narrow stiles create a minimalist profile that keeps the kitchen feeling light and uncluttered while maximizing interior shelf clearance.
The Surfaces: Taj Mahal Silk Quartz Countertops
For the perimeter countertops and central prep island, we sourced and fabricated Taj Mahal Silk Quartz.
Boasting a velvety, low-sheen "silk" (honed/matte) texture, this surface delivers the soft, creamy beige and delicate amber veining of exotic natural quartzite with the non-porous stain resistance of engineered stone. The warm, subtle movement within the slabs connects the white-washed flooring to the natural oak cabinetry, providing a smooth, durable workspace that resists heat, oils, and daily kitchen wear.
Architectural Focal Point: Fluted Large-Format Island Tile
To elevate the newly expanded kitchen island, we turned the seating overhang into a bespoke design feature. Instead of leaving standard painted drywall or wood paneling where barstools sit, we installed fluted large-format tile across the back wall of the island overhang.
Dimensional Texture: The three-dimensional vertical fluting catches directional lighting, creating soft shadow lines that add architectural depth beneath the counter.
Precision 1/8-Inch Grout Lines: Installed with tight 1/8-inch grout joints, the tile runs seamlessly from end to end without distracting grid lines, making the island feel like a solid, sculpted furniture piece.
Scuff Protection: Beyond its high-end aesthetic, the glazed, tiled surface protects the island wall from foot scuffs and everyday wear from barstool seating.
The Backsplash: Bedrosians Cloe Subway Tile Taken to the Ceiling
Rather than stopping the backsplash at the base of the upper cabinets, we carried Cloe ceramic subway tile by Bedrosians all the way up the wall—including tiling completely above and around the cabinets to the ceiling.
Artisanal Character: Bedrosians Cloe tile is famous for its handcrafted zellige look, showcasing subtle variations in gloss, texture, and shading ranging from brilliant white to soft alabaster.
Pure White Grout: Setting the tile with crisp, pure white grout softens the installation, turning the entire wall into a luminous, reflective surface rather than a busy grid.
Ceiling-Height Installation: Running the tile all the way to the ceiling visually raises the roofline, eliminating dead drywall space above the cabinetry and establishing a bright, cohesive architectural backdrop.
Seamless Details: Under-Cabinet LED Lighting & Concealed Power Strips
Luxury design is defined by the details you don't see. Standard wall outlets cut directly into handmade ceramic tile disrupt beautiful backsplash lines. We eliminated this issue with concealed utility routing:
Under-Cabinet Mounted Power Strips: All standard duplex wall outlets were relocated into discreet, angled plugmolds mounted to the undercarriage of the upper cabinets. This leaves the Cloe tile completely uninterrupted by plastic outlet faceplates while keeping plug-in appliances fully powered.
Integrated Channel LED Lighting: Continuous, flush-mounted LED channels were recessed into the cabinet light rails. The diffused, high-CRI light washes down onto the Taj Mahal silk countertops for task work while highlighting the undulating glaze of the tile above.

To tie the organic white oak and creamy tile together, we selected brushed gold hardware and finishes:
Custom Cabinet Handles: Substantial, custom-proportioned handles and pulls in a soft satin brass finish provide an ergonomic grip against the 42-inch doors.
Warm Metallic Cohesion: The muted gold tone echoes the warm ribbons in the Taj Mahal countertops without competing with the glossy sheen of the tile or the cool tones in the white-washed flooring.
